Hey Coasties, while you shop at Coast Plaza we can change the rusty old screws on your vehicle licence plates and replace them with tamper proof 'Safer Plates' screws. This will help minimise the likelihood of your vehicle plates being stolen and used for petrol theft drive offs.
If your Licence plates are stolen:
- Report it to the police. Your missing plates might be used for Petrol Drive-offs; expect a letter from the Fuel company. But, your Police report will help cover you for those unexpected costs.
- Go to the AA and complete a report. A new set of plates is around $15.00
- Add in the cost of your time to go to the Police, and the AA.
Or you could:
- Get Safer Plates screws for your Licence plates. Your local Community Patrol will do this for you. The screws will deter criminals from stealing your plates.
We will be on site on the first floor of the Plaza carpark (by the sliding doors near the laundromat and the travellator)

For $5.00 we will change the screws on the front and rear plates of your vehicle, with your donation going toward the fuel costs of your local Community Patrol. Your vehicle will be ready to go when you return with your shopping.
We make it easy to pay; we take cash (we love cash!) or you can put $5.00 into our account on the day. You might even want to sneak in a little more as a donation toward our fuel costs.
What do we do? We are a team of over 30 local residents, all volunteers, who work with our local police to help keep you, your family, your home and your business safe from crime. Day and night, we observe and report what we see to police. Your donation helps keep us on the road.
