Did you know that thieves want your ‘rego plates’?

Is your vehicle parked outside at home?

Is your vehicle parked in a safe spot when you are at work or when you are shopping?

If your Licence plates are stolen,they might be put on another vehicle and used for a Petrol drive-off, or to commit a ram-raid or burglary. You will need to:

     

Report the theft to the police

  • Go to the AA and complete a report.  
  • Pay for a new set of plates; around $15.00
  • Add in the cost of your time to go to the Police, the AA, the insurance company, and the time that your vehicle is off the road.

Or, you could:

  • Get Safer Plates screws for your Licence plates. Your local Community Patrol will do this for you at $5.00 per vehicle.
  • The screws will deter criminals from stealing your plates.

Your Community Patrol Teamwill remove the old rusty screws from your licence plates and replace them withtamper resistant ‘Safer Plates’ screws.

We make it easy to pay; we take cash (we love cash!) or you can put $5.00 into our account on the day. You might even want to sneak in a little more as a donation toward our fuel costs.
